Honor 9X Launched In India Alongside Honor MagicWatch 2 And Honor Band 5i

cComing from a hiatus, Honor has now finally unveiled its first smartphone in India after the launch of the Honor 20 Series. The Honor 9X, that was originally unveiled in China in July last year, has finally made its way to India. The phone is a successor to the Honor 8X that did launch in India last year. And if you’re wondering whether the phone has support for Google Mobile Services or not, it does. Since the phone was certified before the American ban came into place, the phone ships with Google’s applications and services.

The Honor 9X is powered by the Kirin 710F chipset that replaces the Kirin 710 found on its predecessor. Accompanying the processor is up to 8GB of RAM and GPU Turbo 3.0 that Honor claims will improve gaming performance.

The phone features a glass-back design that glistens and X when light falls on it. The back of the phone houses a triple-camera setup that consists of a primary 48MP sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP depth sensor. If you’re wondering where the fingerprint sensor is, it’s embedded in the power button of the phone.

The display up front is a 6.6-inch LCD panel that isn’t obstructed by a notch or a punch-hole. Instead, the phone employs its 16MP front camera in a pop-up module. The battery of the phone is rated to be 4,000mAh and has support for 10W fast charging via its USB Type-C port. The 9X also retains the headphone jack and has a microSD card slot for expansion.

The phone will be available in variants of 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB that are priced at INR 13,999 and INR 16,999 respectively. Although the pricing isn’t too shabby, the phone will have a tough time competing with phones like the Redmi Note 8 Pro and the Realme 5 Pro that offer more bang-for-buck. Stay tuned for our coverage on the device in the coming days.
