Reports Of A ‘Knives Out’ Sequel With Rian Johnson And Daniel Craig Excites The Internet

Rian Johnson is one of the best directors working in the industry right now and there’s no question about that. So, when he made what I consider the best Star Wars movie yet i.e. The Last Jedi, I was incredibly excited about what he’s going to do next and what did he come up with? A murder mystery which doubles as a dig on classism with one of the best ensemble casts ever assembled called Knives Out. And now, apparently, he is coming back for more of that donut-shaped movie.

Now, on the surface Knives Out has no sequel potential. That’s because the movie begins with a murder in the Thrombey household and ends with a sweet-ass resolution to the whole mystery behind it. However, once the movie reached its conclusion, almost everyone had one thought in their mind: why can’t we a series of Knives Out films where Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc solves various murder mysteries in his classic Gravity’s Rainbow-esque way? And it’s like the movie gods have answered by putting such a sequel in motion.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), during a pre-Golden Globes’ party Johnson said,

“Daniel had so much fun doing it, and he wants to do more.”

THR has also reported that Johnson has said that he is eager the movie quickly, ideally in the next year.

And this is how the internet has reacted:

Rian Johnson’s Knives Out was nominated in multiple categories at the Golden Globes but ended up winning nothing. How? I don’t know. For me it is the best movie of 2019 and I simply can’t wait to see the next mystery-adventure in Benoit Blanc’s logbook (I am pretty sure he has a logbook).
