Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominations List: ‘The Irishman’, ‘Bombshell’, And ‘Chernobyl’ Lead The Race

Awards season has officially begun with Golden Globes and has brought about the first wave of disappointment on fans of movies and TV shows by not nominating some of the most deserving candidates of this year. One of the most notable aspects about the Globes were the lack of female directors. Now, it’s the Screen Actors Guild Awards’ turn. Let’s see how that has fared.

The Screen Actors Guild was an American labor union which represented over 100,000 film and television principal and background performers worldwide. On March 30, 2012, the union merged with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), thereby leading to the creation of SAG-AFTRA. And now it will be hosting the 26th edition of its annual awards ceremony.
